Another Great Win!

I have won another Giveaway.  This one was over at Bacon Time With The Hungry Hypo.  If you have never visited Mindie's blog you need to.  She has some great stuff going on over there.  She also makes awesome things and sells them in her Etsy shop.

Here is what I won

I won it March 26 and had it on March 29.  How awesome is that.  That safe is really heavy duty and the pens are great!

An Award and New Giveaway Sponsors

Hello everyone!  I hope you all have had a wonderful week.  I have been busy playing substitute teacher to 20 fun and loving kindergarten kiddos all week.  There very wonderful teacher had to have a tumor removed from her lip on Monday afternoon and didn't make it back all week.  She was told no sold food for a week and was trying to take meds for pain along with antibiotics on an empty tummy.  Needless to say that was not a good idea.  She is doing much better today though and will return on Monday so next week will slow back down for me. Thank goodness!!

I am sad to say that there has been no crochet at all going on in my house this week.  I have been wore out from working this week and haven't even had the urge to pick up my hooks.  With the teacher I was subbing for planning on coming back on Thursday she had no sub plans past Wednesday so I was scrambling to get everything copied and made up for the rest of the week and that meant no breaks during the day except a few minutes to eat and then back to getting everything together.  Enough about that.

I found out that Miss Debi over at http://hooksandyarns.blogspot.com awarded me the award after being awarded herself.
Thanks Debi!!

Now, I have to tell you 5 things about myself and pass this award onto 5 other bloggers whose blog I enjoy.

1. I grew up in a very small town and only had 30 kids in my graduating class.
2. I grew up in a single parent household most of my life.
3. I have two older brothers whom I have not seen in years.
4. I love Saturday's and Sunday's because my kids come and crawl in bed with me and "snuggle up" as Boo calls it.
5. I love to read Christian Historical Fiction novels. They are my weakness and I read about a book a week.

RULES:
1. You must post the rules.
2. Answer the 11 question that the tagger posted for you, and then create 11 questions to ask the people you've tagged.
3. Tag 11 people and link them in your post.
4. Let them know you have tagged them

I am only going to do number 1 and 2 because I am lazy today.

Here are Susan's questions with my answers:

  1. What is your favorite animal and why?  I would have to say birds.  I love to watch the birds in the winter when our bird feeders are full and I love to listen to them sing in the spring and summer.
  2. What do you love to make above and beyond anything else?  I love to make things for other people.  The one thing I love to make the most for my MIL is the crochet washcloths because when she opens the box she just lights up with excitement over the fact that she has new ones to use.
  3. What's your biggest wish for the future?  I guess it would have to be for my kids to have a wonderful future.  For school to be easy for them and for them to have lots of friends.  For them to be Godly men and women.
  4. What would you say is the worst thing about you?  Let's see.  I have a horrible habit of biting on the inside of my mouth and chewing my tongue.  This torments my husband. The worst part is it caused TMJ and I had to have braces for four years as an adult.  UGH!! My daughter has the same habit.
  5. What would you say is the best thing about you?  I am a great listener and a loyal friend.
  6. What's the most treasured memory you have so far in your life?  When my kids first said "mama" and when they first laughed.
  7. If you won the lottery what would be the first thing you would buy? A larger house with a craft room!!  But I don't play the lottery so that will never happen.
  8. What is your favorite type of flower?  Daisy of course.
  9. What's the most favorite thing you have in your wardrobe?  Jeans.  I am a country girl and couldn't survive without them.
  10. What started you blogging?  To keep up with other blogs as well as things I have made and done.
  11. What's the best thing about blogging? Meeting friends I would not have met otherwise. Like Susan and all of you.

I am now off to the post office to mail out some of my Giveaway goodies.  The winner of the Tracie Peterson book was Mindy.  She has been contacted and has already sent me her email so hers will go out with the rest this morning.

Susan yours is on the way too.  Giggle Giggle.  Happy Birthday Dear Friend!!

Oh and I now have 95 blogger followers!!

When I reach 100 I may have to have a special little giveaway.

So tell your friends to tell their friends!!

Have a great weekend.

A Weekends Worth OF Fun

Warning!!  This post if full of pictures.  If you want to see any of them larger just click on them.

Question of the day:  Where was your favorite place to play or romp as a child? Please leave a comment below.
Mine was in the woods by where we lived.  There was a creek there that had large rocks kind of shape like furniture.  My brother and I as well as all of the neighbor kids played there a lot.

As promised here are some picture from our romps this weekend.  We started out on Saturday in the hollows and springs around our house.
This is the hollow to the east of our house.  We are down in the bottom and the side were pretty steep.
This is an old car that was drove off into the hollow a VERY long time ago.  There are plans to take down part of the fence above it and pull it out sometime soon.
There were lots of new baby tree coming up everywhere.  We had a terrible ice storm a few years back that had a horrible impact on our trees so this will be a wonderful addition.

Here is a close up of the car.  We climbed up to see it closer.  Mr. Boo wanted to sit inside.  Mom said NO!!!!!
This is Mr. Wormy.

Some lovely moss.  It was so soft to touch the kids loved it.

Mini palm trees.  Maybe fair umbrellas
 Heart shaped dirt
 More of the hallow.
Yes that is a cow.  If you look towards the back end of her you can just make out a little brown something. She has just given birth to a new baby.  The kids were in awe of this sight.  We actually got to watch part of it take place.
Here is the little guy later.  We had to go put up the doggies so they wouldn't bother the new mom.  Yes the picture is a little off center.  It is that way for a reason.  The part I cut off was not something I really wanted to share with all of you or something you wanted to see.

He says"  Now I know there is a bottle of milk here somewhere".  He did finally get lunch.
This is a spring that is on the neighbors land.

A heart shaped cute out in the rocks.
Not sure what used to be here.  Maybe a well house.
Say Hello to Mr. Crawdad/Crayfish

 Baby Salamander.

The next pictures are from Sunday.
When we got over to the cabin, I went into the outhouse.  (We don't have the water on in the house in the winter so the pipes won't freeze while we are away.)  Let's just say it was already occupied. This little guy is now known as "Outhouse Mouse". He had a friend as well.  Hubby ran them out so I could use it.  The mouse is very cute. Hubby is my Hero!!

 In Front of the cabin.
Turkey Tracks. These tracks are about the size of my hand.  Boo can't wait to get out on April 6 and hunt for him.  Nummy Nummy Mr. Turkey.

 Deer Tracks.
Playing in the creek. Boo loves his Fireman Boots.
Mr. Snail.  We saw most of his family also. Even a tiny baby one.

Dad joined in on the fun today.  Isn't sis cute with her pants rolled up and her rubber boots on.  Don't tell her  I showed you this she might hurt mom. We had to get her some rubber boots as she had none.  She had to have the fancy ones with the hearts on them.  She is momma's girly girl.

Mr. Boo is in heaven!  Look mom a deer "horn".

The creek at the waterfall.

The waterfall.  We have owned this land for over 7 years and this is the first time I have seen the waterfall.
This little guy down in the water ruined all our fun.  No more playing in the creeks for this year now that the water moccasins are out and about.  We also have copper heads so not much tromping will be done in the woods either.

Some kind of fungus/mushroom.  The kids thought they were cool.  They would make nice fairy boats or even a fairy car.
View down the "gas line".

My cool find.  An arrow head.  Hubby thinks I'm cool now because I found a treasure.  The kids always knew mom was cool.  Thank you Miss Tootie for being my hand model.

I am leaving you with the sights and sounds at the waterfall.  Enjoy.  Sorry if it is a little jerky.  I used my digital camera to do the video also.  I hope you enjoyed our day out I know we did.  There are lots more pictures but I only posted a few. I may have to work from Tuesday on so I may not see much of you until the weekend.  If not have a great week.

A Sunny Saturday

Guest Bloggers

I am being featured as the Guest Blogger over on Susan's Blog today.  Go on over and have a peek.  Just click on the button above to get there.

Thanks to all of you for your comments on my blog post about the changes to my blog.  There were lots of different colors given as favorites.  Here is a list of all of them in random order and how many chose them:
Pink 1                  Orange 1                   Aqua 1                     Blue 4                  Green 1
Red 2                  Yellow 1                     Purple 1                  Silver 1                 Pastels 1

A lot of you love to crochet and knit, but there were a lot of you who also love photography, drawing, painting, cross stitch and cooking too.  Thanks for letting me get to know a little more about you.  I found out that I have a lot in common with my followers.  I will continue posting questions from time to time so we can learn more about each other.

This has been a lazy week at the Lazy Daisy house.  The kiddos were on spring break and it rained and was very cool the whole entire week.  They needed the rest though, as both of them have had allergy crud going on.  Mr. Boo is barking like a very large puppy and Sissy Roo has had a massive sore throat.  At least the sun is finally shining today though. There has been a little bit of crochet going on this week, but not a bunch.  I did manage to finish some of the baby goodies I was working on.  Here, have a peek.

I really like how this turned out.  The colors look great together.  The first picture it closer to the color that it actually is.  These are very easy to make and work up really fast.  (PATTERN)

I used the same pattern to make some washcloths but only worked it up to row 7 the started decreasing.

She loved my Wiggly Piggy blanket so she will be getting one of those also.

And here is all of it in the basket.  I am going to try to get one more thing made but don't know if I will have time as this baby is due in May. I have to work all of this coming week subbing for Mr. Boo's teacher from last year.  She has a tumor in her bottom lip and is going to have it removed. The I had to reschedule  my surgery for the following week.

I have been working on something for a dear friend of mine.  She has a birthday this month and I wanted to send her a little something.  She lives all the way in the UK but we have become pretty good friends thanks to the blogs.  She knows who she is and I know she is watching so I am going to post a tiny peek of what it is.  I even let her pick the colors. Giggle Giggle.  There will be something else in with it but it has not been worked up yet so here is a tiny peek. And Susan I know you are peeking so ha ha this is all you get to see until you get  it in the mail.
After hers has been received I think I will put the finished ones up for sale in my shop.  I will share the pattern with you later.  It is not mine and it is really cute.

I am off to finish up some stuff then we are going to put on our rubber boots and go play in the "hollers"  around our house.  We call the hollers you probably know them as hollows.  I promise to take lots of pictures.  Who knows we may even find a few fairies or leprechauns down there.  I just hope there aren't any snakes or spiders.  YUCK!!

Have a great day all!!  In case you didn't see the post about who the Miche bag winner is you can find out HERE
