Halloween...

As all of you know, today is Halloween.  But, do you know the history of Halloween? You can find some articles about it HERE and HERE.

Just let me say that I am not judging you if you do celebrate Halloween. That being said, my family and I do not celebrate Halloween at our house.  My kids do not get dressed up in scary costumes and go door to door asking for candy. Nor do they watch all the Halloween shows and cartoons on television.  We also do not carve pumpkins (you can read why HERE and HERE). To us it is just another day. When my kids first started school they didn't understand why they couldn't trick or treat like all the other kids did.  But as they have gotten older they have realized that Halloween is a day to celebrate the evil in the world. In our walk with the Lord, we choose to only celebrate the light not the darkness.  The bible says:

Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, rebuke and expose them.
-Ephesians 5:11(NLT)

You cannot drink from the cup of the Lord and from the cup of demons, too. You cannot eat at the Lord's Table and at the table of demons too.
-1 Cor. 10:21(NLT)

After reading a blog post from HERE, I felt that I too needed to step out and share my faith and feelings on this "Holiday."  This post is not meant to judge, condemn or offend in any way.  If you choose to celebrate Halloween, then that is your choice.  If I have offended you I'm sorry but...

Don't get me wrong. I love fall!  My family enjoys going to local pumpkin patches and going through corn mazes. We buy pumpkins to sit on the porch and cut them open to enjoy the seeds. We love to go for walks through the crunchy leaves. We even go to the fall festival at school. We just don't condone the evil side of it.

If you choose to take you children trick or treating tonight please be safe!

I Love Rainy Fall Days...

I love fall!  The leaves start to turn beautiful shades of gold and orange.

We get blessed with wonderfully quiet rainy days.

I get to see these beautiful trees everyday when I leave to go take the kids to school and on the way back home. Sorry they are a little fuzzy.  I took them on my cell phone and I'm guessing the camera lens was covered with finger prints.

I have been crazy busy this week getting orders worked up and sent out.  I had a doll set that went out to Ireland and I just finished 4 little tooth pouches that will be off to New Zealand this afternoon.

I also fixed up a little basket that I donated to Boo's school.  It will be auctioned off at their fall carnival this Friday.  I was in such a hurry to get it together that I forgot to take a picture of it before I took it.  Maybe I can get one Friday night and post it later.  I hope all of you are having a great week.  I am off to get some more things done.  Talk to you soon.

Monday Funday #54

Happy last Monday of the month everyone.

Just one more week and Boo will get his cast of and everything can start to go back to our normal around here. We had a pretty good weekend.  Lulu has been a little hunter this weekend and shot not one but two bucks. She got her biggest one on Sunday morning.

It was her first 8 point. The one she shot Saturday was a 5 point. She was so proud because she got to shoot dad's Muzzle loader for the first time. We got tickled at her because she said there was fire coming out the end of that thing. Boo was a little disappointed because he can't go hunting for a little while longer. He was very proud of his big sister though because she "got more meat for the family".

Monday Funday #53

Happy Monday again.  This post has been typed up in advance because today Mr. Boo is having the pins in his arm pulled. We have to be at the hospital at 6:00am to check in and get him ready. The doctor is great because he doesn't want us to do pre-op blood work or anything.  They do all of that after the put him under so that he doesn't have to go through all the poking and prodding.  After the pins are pulled they will put a new cast on for two more weeks and then he will be set free again.  He will strangle me for posting this, but here is a picture of him before he went back to have the pins put in  month ago.

He has his favorite snuggle buddy, Swimmer the seal, with him.  They even let him take Swimmer back into the O.R. with him. I love the look on his face.  He was not liking the fact that mom was taking his picture in his "party hat".  Then when he came back out we were playing with the barf catcher bags and pretending they were Swimmer's party hat.  Needless to say, on the way home, one of those party hats got used and it wasn't a very fun party. I will try to keep you posted on how he is doing.  He is quite the little trooper and one VERY TOUGH cookie!! We made a double batch of Jello Jigglers on Sunday so he would have fun goodies to eat when he got home.  Last time all he could keep down was Jello and pretzels. We have quite the assortment of shaped molds.

The ones we used were Sports(red mold), Zoo Animals(yellow mold), Christmas(green mold) and 3D egg shaped.  I actually have two of the 3D egg molds, a giant ginger bread man mold and a jelly bean mold.  I have no idea where I came up with all of them but they are fun.

Due to an error last week, we only had one new link added to the list so she is the only one being featured this week.

Congratulations to this weeks featured link. Isn't that little pumpkin cute? Be sure and link up all of you great posts below and you might find yourself under the featured links next week.  And don't forget to stop back by tomorrow and link up your craft blogs and shop at the new Crafter's Blog and Shop Hop.
