This is just a little something I whipped up to share with you guys. I did a similar craft for one of my Sunday School classes a few years ago but we used a Styrofoam ball and a foam cup instead for the head and body. This would be something cute for the kids to make and hang on the tree or even use as a topper if they had their own little tree in there room. Or you could even make a whole bunch of them and hang them from the ceiling. I hope you have fun making them. If you make some come back and let me know I would love to see them.
Christmas Angel Tutorial
Materials Needed
2.5” (or larger) Paper Mache Egg
Craft Pain
Paint Brush
Wiggle Eyes or Buttons
Craft Foam
Pipe Cleaners
Yarn
Stickers, Glitter Glue or other Decorations
Toilet Paper or Paper Towel Rolls
Scissors
Glue or Hot Glue Gun
Nail (or something else small to poke hole in egg)
First, paint the egg. If you want a darker complexion you can leave it natural. You may need to put on more than one coat of paint. Allow to dry between coats. If you are
working with small children you may want to do this ahead of time.
After egg is dry, poke a hole in the top and bottom of
egg.
Run pipe cleaner all the way through if possible. Then twist at the bottom to help is stay put. Twist the remainder at the top into a halo shape, cutting any excess if needed. If the pipe cleaner won’t go all the way through you can put a little glue at the top to help hold it in place.
Cut your paper tube in half (if using a T.P. Tube). This will leave you with a tube about 2 – 2 ½
inches.
Cut foam to fit around cardboard tube, leaving it at least 1 inch longer at the bottom. You will want it to overlap a little at the back also. (Mine foam wound up being 3 inches x 6 inches). Glue the foam to paper tube. I stapled mine in the back to make sure it did not come loose.

Trace wing shape onto back side of foam and cut out. If you use glitter foam, as I did, make sure
to attach them glitter side to front of angel.
Glue another pipe cleaner to the back of the angel for hanger. Then attach wings. I stapled mine to make sure they held.
To attach head, run a bead of glue around inside of
tube. Don’t push the head too far down
into the tube or it will be too small.
Add eyes, mouth and nose. I used wiggle eyes and some heart stickers.
To add hair, take long pieces of yarn and decide what length
you want the hair to be. Wrap yarn to
that length and tie together. I used
three bundles of yarn. Glue hair bundles
on top of head. One will drape down
back.
Now that you have your angel all put together, you can leave
her as she is or decorate her any way you like.
Make sure you add your child’s name and the date to the back.
Fantastic!!!
