It's Monday again everyone. I don't know if I am ready for it to be Monday or not. We had a great weekend. We didn't get to spend the night at the cabin because the a/c was not working. We did go over and finish staining/sealing the porch. It looks great. I didn't think to take any before and after pictures. We have someone coming to fix the a/c this week so hopefully we will be over there this weekend. There is a state park about 15 to 20 minutes away so we a planning on going over and swimming in the pool. I hoping to talk hubby into dragging the camper out maybe next week so we can use it this year and go camping in it before the kids go back to school. They have enjoyed the tent but the lake is calling and I'm ready to go camping.
I finally got to work on Lulu's Kirby yesterday. I still need to make the feet and the face and put all of it together. I hope to finish it today. I'll post pictures when it is finished. Hers is yellow and orange.
I have a book I want to share with you today. Another outstanding book by one of my favorite authors. The Miner's Lady by Tracie Peterson.
When Chantel Panetta's younger sister claims to be in love with Orlando Vittorio, Chantel knows there is no hope. The Panettas and Vittorios have been sworn enemies for decades, and young love cannot heal the deep wounds between the two iron-mining families. Yet, unable to resist Isabella's pleas, Chantel agrees to help her sister spend time with Orlando...only to have a run-in with Dante, Orlando's brother. The older, more handsome one.
Chantel can't deny the attraction that flares when she's with Dante. But when tragedy occurs at the mine, is there any hope that the hatred that has simmered between these two families might be resolved? Or will Chantel's hope for love be buried amidst decades of misunderstanding?
The Miner's Lady is book #3 in Tracie's Land of Shining Water series. I have not had a chance to read the first two books yet. They were both released earlier this year. The Miner's Lady is scheduled to be released next month. I received an advance copy e-book from NetGalley.com in exchange for an honest review.
As I've said before, Tracie Peterson is one of my favorite authors. I have read most of her books and have not been disappointed. This book started a little slow for me but after about the first chapter I was hooked. This is a Romeo and Juliet type story. Two families have been enemies for decades due to "the death of a mule". But, there is more to the story. Now, the youngest daughter of a Panetta is in love with the youngest son of a Vittorio. Isabella will do anything to be with Orlando. Despite the risk they sneak around behind everyone's back to be together and are planning to be married. Isabella's older sister Chantel, and Orlando's older brother Dante are trying their best to keep them apart and change their minds about running away together. But as we all know, you can't keep true love apart.
I guess I'm going to have to get caught up on all of Tracie's books that I have not read yet. You can visit her website to see all of her books. You can also log onto the NetGalley website and sign up to get free books to review as well. They have not only Christian books but every other book you can imagine as well.
Now link up below so we can see what you are up to. Have a great week and remember to come back tomorrow for this months Blog Hop.
