KCBW 2012 Color Lovers - 3KCBWDAY1

Happy Monday everyone!!  I am going to try and participate in this years Knitting and Crochet Blog Week.  I have a busy week ahead so no guarantees.

Today's topic is color. I am a lover of all colors.  You might have a hard time telling that if you could see my house.  My husband is one of those people who likes white walls and neutral furnishings.  Me on the other hand, I love color. The spaces that I occupy the most tend to be full of color.

I tend to pick colors by mood. I always ask my son, when we are picking his clothes for school that day, "what color do you feel today".  And of course his answer is always different. Sometimes he even picks more that one color.  Yellows make me happy.  Greens make me feel energetic. Red is a very energetic color also. My favorite color though has to be Blue, as I'm sure you can tell from my blog.  To me, Blue is a calming color.  I read somewhere that scientist have found that the color blue causes the body to produce chemicals that are calming.  This may be why we all like to be around blue.  God knew what he was doing when he made the sky blue. Looking through my stash, I have a lot of blue, yellow, and green yarn.  I have a little of the other colors also but those seem to be primarily the colors that I buy.  There are all different shades of those colors in my stash. Maybe it is because these colors are found together in nature.  Blue Sky, Yellow Sun and Green Grass. As a child, and even now, one of my favorite things to see was a rainbow.  Not only is it a promise from God but it is full of his beautiful colors.

What are your favorite colors?

Paying It Forward ~ The Crochet Way!

When I was checking my blog roll earlier, reading what everyone has been up to, I found Oodles 4 Noodles doing something really fun! She is playing a game of sorts, that she found on  Create Bella Create, by crocheting surprise gifts for her followers. I love to crochet gifts and thought this would be so fun, so here at Lazy Daisy Crochet we are going to play too! Here are the rules if you want to play:

1.  I will send a surprise gift to the first three commenters on this post. The gift will be handmade by me.  It will be sent sometime in the next 365 days. It will be a surprise.  We all love getting surprises in the mail, right?

2. To sign up and receive a gift, you must play along, too. Pay it Forward on your blog, by promising to make a surprise for the first three people who comment on the post.

3. You must have a blog (that is updated, as I will blog stalk you to find the right gift for you). Include your blog address in your comment.

4. After commenting here, you must repost this or something similar to your blog in 48 hours.  If not, I will chose the next person who comments…Its that simple!! :)

I am looking forward to playing this fun game with my fellow bloggers and making something special and handmade just for them.

Oh and check out  Create Bella Create and Oodles 4 Noodles  , and send them some love!

Have A Giggle On This Thursday Evening

My daughter came home from school yesterday talking about this thing she saw at school on youtube so of course we had to go look.  We called Mr. Boo into the kitchen to have a see also.  This is what we saw:

That poor mama panda.  She was scared half to death.  I was about to roll in the floor because I was laughing so hard.  Hubby came to see what was going on and didn't think it was that funny but the kids and I did.  I had to share it with all of you.

Crochet WIP Wednesday

I know I haven't posted much crochet here lately but I am still plugging along.  It seems like I have been too busy to do much of anything lately and I don't like to feel that way.  I hope you are all enjoying my Pink Zebra, Compelling Creations and my 100+ Followers Giveaways.(Click on the links to check them out if you have not already done so)  Someone asked me if they had to purchase something from Compelling Creations to win my Giveaway.  The answer is no.  This is just like any of my other reviews and giveaways - No Purchase Necessary To Win.  The Giveaway from Compelling Creations purchases is separate from mine so please enter if you haven't already.  There is only one person who has entered so far, so the odds are great that you could win.

Now on to what I have been working on. I am crocheting the cutest Flower Hat and Necklace for little girls.

I'm still working on the necklace part.  I have 5 more flowers to make and a stem that hangs down in the front.

Here is the hat, isn't it cute.

I hope to have it finished by the end of the week.  I will probably sell the finished item in my shop.  If anyone is interest in buying one please let me know.  Now I am off to link up on some of these other wonderful blogs.

Have a Great Day Everyone!!

Fearless

Fearless by Eric Blehm

When Navy SEAL Adam Brown woke up on March 17, 2010, he didn’t know he would die that night in the Hindu Kush Mountains of Afghanistan—but he was ready.
In a letter to his children, not meant to be seen unless the worst happened, he wrote, “I’m not afraid of anything that might happen to me on this earth, because I know no matter what, nothing can take my spirit from me.”
Fearless is the story of Adam Brown, a man of extremes, whose courage and determination was fueled by faith, family, and the love of a woman. It’s about a man who waged a war against his own worst impulses and persevered to reach the top tier of the US military. Always the first to volunteer for the most dangerous assignments, Adam’s final act of bravery led to the ultimate sacrifice.

Fearless takes you deep into SEAL Team SIX, straight to the heart of one of its most legendary operators.

Paws and Tales Being Kind & Caring DVD Review

Using colorful animation, fun characters, and great lessons, Paws & Tales is an exciting tool for helping build godly character into kids. Based on thePaws & Tales nationally broadcast radio program presented by Chuck Swindoll’s Insight for Living, the Paws & Tales videos communicate biblical truth and show kids how they can apply it to real life. Kids will be captivated by the adventure, caught up in the laughter, and carried away in the fun . . . and the whole time they’ll be on their way to understanding solid Bible theology. This eighth DVD in the series is based on Ephesians 4:32 and Philippians 2:3-4 and includes two episodes that teach kids about being kind and caring. In episode #1, “The Hullabaloo at Hunker Hill,” C. J. and his friends learn a lesson in forgiveness and being tenderhearted toward one another. In “The Great Go-Kart Race,” the team discovers how to work together.

Review

My kids loved this movie!!  If your kids like to watch Franklin or Little Bear they will love this series too.  Even my 12 year old was loving it.  The little animals are cute and they are going through the same things are kids are. From dealing with bullies to having trouble getting along with their best friends.  The "kids" are also learning about forgiveness and God's love.  There are cute music videos with and without singalong as well as fun activities. Just pop the DVD into you computer and go to the DVD drive and click on the PDF files.  There are two activity pages for the kids as well as Parent Tips sheet to help you discuss the movie with your kids or your Sunday School class.  You can visit the Tyndale House website for more information about this DVD or others in this series.  I would reccomend this DVD for children and families of all ages.

I received this complimentary copy of this  DVD from Tyndale House Publishing for reviewing purposes.  All views in this review are my own and I was not compensated for a positive review.

Jill Felts, founder of Compelling Creations, asked me to review the Hostess Gift that they will be giving away for the month of April. The best part is that I get to share one with you also. But first let me tell you a little bit about the company and how it started.

The joy of Spring is here! Nature embodies the Spirit of God's thoughts of beauty for our world. This month, sense God's presence in a flower; see God's nurture in a bird's nest; feel His whisper in a gentle breeze. Can you see the Trinity in these leaves calling us to be good stewards of the Earth?

Compelling Creations is a company I can stand behind. It is faith based and has a wonderful product line that I would be proud to wear and use as well as give as a gift. There are so many companies out there today that think everything has to be vulgar and ugly/evil to sell their products. My family tries to stay away from those types of products. This company is proud to stand behind every piece that it makes. We need more companies like this one. The Piece that I received is not just a thin piece of metal it is a heavy piece of sterling silver and comes in a cute little fabric bag.
