This Blog It Is A Changein'

As you all know this blog started out to be mostly "all about me".  Well The Lord has his own ideas about what this blog should be about.  I will continue to post about all of my things, but on top of that I hope to offer more reviews, giveaways and other great things.  I feel that The Lord is leading me to highlight and share information about companies and products that help, or give back to, the community.  We all have busy lives.  We are working, taking care of family and homes, and trying to do a little something for others as well.  My idea is to start sharing products from companies who are trying to make things easier for us, their buyers, as well as doing their part to giveback in some way to the community. Companies that my family and I can stand behind. In doing so I hope to not only bring wonderful products to all of you but also tell you about companies that are not just out there to get your money, but who are willing to give back in wonderful ways. In doing so, I will be giving back to all of you for sharing your lives with me. I am in contact with two such companies at this time and hope to have more information about them to share with you soon.  In the meantime, as they say in advertising "Stay Tuned For More Information".

I also want to find out more about my followers and even those of you who are not followers. From time to time I will be posting random questions that you can answer to let me know a little more about each of you.  In doing so I will find out more about you and so will others. I will also leave my answer to the questions so I can share a little about myself along the way also. Let's start today.

Please leave me a comment below with the answers and have fun getting to know each other.

Question #1: What is your favorite color and why?

Question #2: What is your favorite Craft or Hobby?

Question #3: If you Crochet or Knit what is your favorite hook/needle size? If you don't do either what is your favorite craft tool?

Answer #1: Blue- Because it is the color of the sky on a clear day and it is calming. Cobalt blue seems to be the color I gravitate to most.

Answer #2: My favorite craft is crochet of course, and I also love to read.

Answer #3: My favorite hook size seems to be an I.  I use it a lot with my favorite yarn.

Let's work together and make this blog all about "Us".

psssst  Don't forget about my two giveaways.

  1. Hi Melissa. Here are my answers:
    1. pink - because it's pretty
    2. crochet
    3. size J - because I crochet tight
    Have a great day. :)

  2. I think that is one reason I use such a big hook also. I have to go up a hook size from what the pattern says most of the time.

  3. 1. Orange --I'm not sure why...maybe because it's bright and cheery? But it has to be the right shade of orange. ;-)
    2. Crochet, of course!
    3. Hmmm, depends on my project. For thread crochet, I most often use 7 or 12 especially for my bead crochet projects. For yarn, I probably use H or I the most.

    1. This is fun. I am going to really like getting to know all of you!! I love to see my daughter wear orange. It really sets off her brown eyes and red hair.

  4. Hi Melissa!
    1) My favorite color is reminds me of the ocean.
    2) My favorite crafts are watercolor painting and photography.
    3) I have a huge love of all things knitted and crocheted, but I don't knit or crochet myself. So, my favorite tools would be a paint brush and my camera.

    God Bless!

    1. I agree about aqua. It reminds me of the ocean as well. I have always loved watercolor paintings but can not paint well myself.

  5. 1. My favourite colour is either lapis blue or celadon green, although I'm trying to make peace with orange. My daughter's a HUGE fan of orange and she's slowly converting me into an orange-aholic. I like the blue and green because they're peaceful colours and goodness knows I need more peacefulness in my life!

    2. I am a crochet addict. And I also really enjoy photography, knitting, and drawing, although I'm really just starting my obsessions with these.

    3. I use a 4.00mm hook the most when I make things that don't call for a specific size. I think it's because the vast majority of things that I made when I was first learning called for a hook that size and my hand just got used to it. The larger sizes feel weird to me.

As a recent follower of your blog, I think the new direction you're taking with it sounds exciting and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for you!

    1. My daughter loves all of those bright colors also. Her favorites are yellow and pink though. I am trying to get into knitting but am very slow and tend to walk away from it VERY easily.
I'm glad you are a follower and I can't wait for all of you too see what God has in store for me, this blog and all of you.

  6. 1. Not one particular color but all pastels - They remind me of spring my favorite time of year

    2. Crochet and knitting are pretty equal but I also scrapbook, sew, and make cards.

    3. Crochet hook J Knitting needles 7

  7. I too like pastels. There is something so cheerful about them.

  8. fun

    1. Yellow - it is so bright and sunny
    2. Crochet, Reading
    3. first for yarn: either G or H, love both; for thread: my 1.5 I bought in the Azores. Absolutely love it - actually bought 3 so I would always have one!

  9. 1. Blue, like you said, the sky..I was always looking up as a child and still do. And Green too, because I have a close relationship with all things green (plant wise that is).
    2. Crochet, knitting and Cross stitch (yep reading too)
    3. 4mm for both. I find this a very versatile hook and needle. Although I do use all sizes.

    1. I'm like you I love to look up at the sky on a clear day. That blue is so beautiful. When my son was a baby he loved to sit and watch the green leaves blow in the wind. We would take him outside after dinner and he would end up asleep every time from watching the leaves blow. It lulled him to sleep I guess.

  10. 1. My favorite color is blue because I love to see the color of the sky when I am outdoors.
    2. Sewing is my favorite, followed by crochet, with a dash of photography and cooking tossed in.
    3. My favorite crochet hook is J. It is a hook I have had since I was a child and it just feels right in my hand.

  11. 1. My favorite colors are midnight blue, silver, and purple.
    2. I love photograpy, crochet, and drawing. Probably cuz they're the only crafts or hobbies I find myself good at. Haha
    3. I don't think I have a favorite sized hook, but I do find myself frequently using a G hook for most of my projects.

    1. I love the way blues and silver goes together. You sound like me on the hobbies. I cross stitch some but I have been more into crochet lately. I have found some embroidery projects I would like to do floating around online though.

  12. 1. My favourite colour is red, it reminds me constantly of poppy's which are my favourite flower. My favourite flower because it in the UK it is a sign of respect for the solders that served in the war. Red and poppies is a prominent colour in my life and reminds me of lost family members. red is also a bright and cheery colour.

    2. Crochet and blogging are my hobbies that I love.

    3. Hook size 4.5 mm for me mostly.

    1. I love poppy's too. I had some planted in the yard at one time and loved them. Never have planted more. That may be a spring projects for the kiddos.

  13. Hi Melissa,
    1) My favorite colour is red. The funny thing is I hardly have anything that's red but I still love it. It's a warm inviting colour.
    2) Has to be crochet ;-)
    3) 5mm as it's fantastic for making hats.

    1. Mr. Boo's Favorite color is red also. He has always loved anything red. Because of him I have found myself liking red more and more.
